Client Case Study – NHRA 20’x 40’ Custom Rental Exhibit

Sometimes our competition makes it easy for us. There’s just no other way to put it. 

For example, one of our new clients is The National Hot Rod Association. This high performance racing organization is based in Glendora, California and just marked its 60th year in operation. For the past several years, all of their major tradeshow events have been managed by a large national exhibit firm. 

And they have been paying dearly for it.

When we contacted The NHRA with an offer to show them an alternative to their current provider, the initial response was, “we’re all set”. We explained that DesignShop would be pleased to provide a design and cost option for their consideration, and that the difference may be very obvious.

Suddenly, “we’re all set” turned into, “I think we’re spending too much money…” 

A common theme amongst all companies big and small right now is the need to do more with less with their trade show programs. It was relayed to us that the problem with their current exhibit company wasn’t the people – they were great. It was simply the amount of money they had to spend in order to work with them. 

Unfortunately for a lot of our competition, the size of their organization dictates that they have to charge more for their services just to remain profitable. By using strategic locations and achieving “zero debt” status over four years ago, it makes it easy for DesignShop to provide the same quality of service and production capabilities as our competitors…for less.

We were asked to prove this by putting together two exhibit services quotes – one centered on the NHRA keeping their current exhibit and having DesignShop store it and manage the show services surrounding it. The other proposal would be an entirely new exhibit design built from our versatile custom rental exhibit inventory.

It turned out that both exhibit options exceeded expectations on the savings. The custom rental exhibit option was even more attractive because it offered the ability to significantly upgrade their show floor presence with a great design, at a fraction of the cost it would have required to purchase a new exhibit.

Needless to say, The NHRA made a splash with a new 20’ x 40’ custom rental exhibit at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas.  And DesignShop has earned the business of a new client for many years to come.
