Midland Radio

OBJECTIVES:

Midland Radio is well known for their Walkie Talkies, CB Radios, and BIZTALK Radios, which have supported both corporations and outdoor enthusiasts for decades. Though they have always backed outdoor enthusiasts, Midland has never pushed the outdoor lifestyle in their marketing message.

With every-day access to cell phones, many people have forgotten about the use of two-way radios, as a means of communication. However, mobile phones often don't have reception where outdoor enthusiasts pursue their lifestyles. Midland’s non-official pitch is “use a walkie-talkie where cell phones don’t work”.

DesignShop was challenged to create an outdoor lifestyle exhibit, showcasing Midland Radio's new product line, while staying true to Midland's overall brand.

SOLUTION:

DesignShop's creative team designed a rustic exhibit, including many natural elements, which created the feel of a wilderness lodge in the great outdoors. Elements such Midlands four-wheel-drive vehicles, a faux fireplace and "digital campfire" we added to compliment the overall theme. To stay consistent with Midland's corporate brand, our team maintained the brand's logo and prominently showcased it throughout the display, with modern LED back-lighting.

RESULTS:

Through the unique use of photography, digital applications and modern architecture, our Team was able to deliver a final product that spoke directly to and attracted outdoor enthusiasts to the brand during the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The booth was well-received by the brand and show attendees.
